History:

Niagara Technology Group began life in 1999 as the IT and software development department of Nicklin Associates, a medical facility management outsourcing firm in New York.  By early 2000, Niagara decided to spin off from Nicklin so that each company could focus on its own core competencies.

At the time, the intention was that Nicklin Associates would be Niagara's only IT outsourcing customer, and that Niagara would focus on software development and delivery services.  Niagara eventually went on to specialize in the financial and medical fields, while Nicklin Associates became part of Stericycle.

In 2001, a number of small businesses expressed interest in having Niagara deliver IT outsourcing in the Central New York region.  As a result, Niagara branched into the small business IT delivery market.  For the next several years, however, Niagara concentrated on the medical facility management industry, and the SMB IT market remained a minor component of the business.  Niagara primarily served as an IT supplier to Nicklin Associates, and the two businesses continued to be closely aligned.

In 2004, changes in the market led Nicklin Associates and Niagara Technology Group to diverge their focuses.  Starting in 2005, Niagara began the process of redefining the company as it prepared, for the first time, to work directly with customers rather than working through its partner company.

In 2009, because of uncertainty in the healthcare market, Niagara decided to step back and reevaluate its core focus, changing from healthcare to SMB.  Niagara's client base is now throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France.  Niagara continues to expand its reach into new markets and client bases.
